West Bank, Al Ray – A Palestinian clerk urged the Palestinian officials to inform the Pope of the Vatican, to be visiting the territory on Sunday, about ‘Israel’s’ illegal violations against the hunger-striking Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.
Mufti of Bethlehem Sheikh Majeed Amarneh’s call came during a stand-in staged by Hamas Movement in the al-Dheisheh refugee camp, Bethlehem, in solidarity with around 140 administrative detainees.
Amarneh called for increasing the public participation in activities of solidarity with Palestinian, who have been hunger striking for 3 days.
In this respect, Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh praised in the Friday Sermon the Pope Francis not using the Israeli airspace through his visit to the region.
Pope Francis is embarking on a three-day visit to the Middle East which will take him to Jordan, ‘Israel’ and the Palestinian territories.
