JENIN, (PIC)– Salem Military Court has ordered the administrative detention of sick detainee Adnan Hamarsheh after being detained with his wife three and a half months ago. His trial was postponed eight times.
Family sources confirmed to PIC correspondent that Hamarsheh, 48, was now held in administrative detention, saying that a trial hearing will be held on the 5th of June to determine the duration of his administrative detention.
Hamarsheh, an activist in prisoners’ issue, has spent more than 10 years in Israeli detention including 6 years in administrative detention.
Hamarsheh, who suffers many health problems, was detained on the 16th of February along with his wife Reem Hamarsheh, who is still detained without charge or trial.
On the other hand, Palestinian Prisoners Society stated that the Israeli occupation authorities renewed the administrative detention of detainee Azzam Shuweiki, from al-Khalil, for 4 more months one day before his slated release.
In its press release issued on Wednesday, PPS said that Shweiki, who is held in Negev prison, suffers from heart problems and high blood pressure.
