Palestinian administrative detainees’ hunger strike hits day 54

Palestinian administrative detainees’ hunger strike hits day 54.

RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Palestinian administrative detainees in Israeli jails have been without food for  54 uninterrupted days in protest at the Israeli arbitrary detention policies, issued with neither charge nor hearings.

Head of the Palestinian Prisoner Society, ex-detainee Fares Qaddura, warned of projected Israeli retaliatory measures that are likely to be issued in light of the recent developments and abductions going on in the West Bank.

Qaddura called on all activists and human rights groups to rally round the prisoners and back them up throughout their fight for freedom.

The latter has raised alarm bells over the very critical health status of scores of Palestinian hunger strikers, and championed caution in dealing with the recent developments (the reported capture of three Israeli settlers).

Dozens of Palestinian hunger strikers have been rushed to Israeli hospitals after having been starving for 54 days in a row and vowed to keep going until all of their fair demands are met.
