Administrative detainees on 59th day of hunger strike

Administrative detainees on 59th day of hunger strike.

RAMALLAH, (PIC)– The Palestinian administrative detainees have entered the 59th day of their open-ended hunger strike in protest at their illegal detention without indictment or trial.

Most of these hunger strikers were admitted to hospitals after a serious decline in their health conditions.

The number of Palestinians administratively detained in Israeli jails has been on the rise after Israel launched recently a mass arrest campaign in the West Bank and transferred many of them to administrative detention, according to human rights groups.

The Israeli prison authority, in turn, ordered the administrations of all jails not to involve in any talks aimed at ending the hunger strike of prisoners.
